Hi, I’m Tom – Head TEFL Coach at Precision TEFL.
I help people fund their adventure in Colombia by teaching English. I fell in love with this country the moment I arrived nearly eight years ago — and now I’m passionate about helping others experience the same freedom, culture, and adventure that transformed my life.
I don’t usually call myself an “expert,” but here’s why I know I can guide you:
- Fluent Spanish speaker – I’ve built my life here and understand the culture from the inside out.
- Extensive travel experience – I’ve explored 22 of Colombia’s 32 departamentos, from snow-capped mountains and deserts to tropical rainforests, vast savannahs, and stunning beaches on both the Caribbean and Pacific coasts.
- Diverse teaching background – I’ve taught in public and private schools, language institutes, and given private classes to everyone from four-year-olds to senior executives at Colombia’s top drinks company.
- Entrepreneurial experience – I run my own tutoring business and a thriving English conversation club in my hometown, Ibagué.
- Local know-how – I’ve personally navigated many of Colombia’s practical and administrative processes, and I help participants understand what to expect.
